This is a lot of 4 pieces, all dating to soon after the formation of Randsburg, a mining town. Named for the mining town in South Africa, gold was discovered in the area around 1895. The first post office followed a year later in 1896. This lot includes: 1) a billhead from Randsburg Oil and Fuel for the Yellow Aster Mining Co., dated 1899; 2) C. Asher & Co. invoice, also for the Yellow Aster Mining Co.; 3) C. Asher & Co. invoice for the Houser Hotel, 1903; and 4) a letter from W.C. Wilson General Merchandise to John Singleton, dated 1898. No. 4 is the best piece. The documents have some wear, including burns, tears and creases.City: RandsburgCounty: Kern State: CADate: c1900
