This is an 1896 philatelic cover from Randsburg, California. According to J. Williams, it is the earliest known cover from Randsburg by two days. This cover came from H.L. Nelson, Giant Powder, Real Estate, and Mining Broker. This lot also includes the letter that was inside the envelope. This is also the earliest known Letterhead/Billhead. The letter was written to G.R. Johnson regarding the sale of a mining lot. The postmark on the cover is a double ring and a star that is fairly well centered over the stamp. Cover is 5.75 x 3.5, sleeved, good condition. Content letter is 10.5 x 8, good condition.
