The Reno-Virginia Transportation Company was a stage that ran from Reno to the Comstock. During most of its life, that was two round trips daily. The company started in 1925. Its headquarters was the V&T depot in Carson City (still standing). The stock holders were FE Murphy president, SC Bigelow secretary and Bill Cobb driver. Research at the Special Collections Department at the University of Nevada shows that Cobb made $6.00 a day. Signed on the back by Cobb. And, yes, he was a big baseball fan and would name his son Ty Cobb. Ty would become the premier newspaper sports reported of his time. Stock certificate #6 for 150 shares on January 9, 1929 issued to Bill Cobb. Punch cancelled. More notes on the company and Senator Bill Cobb from Storey County are included.
