This is the holy grail of information about Inyo County mines. Rare and highly sought after, this is the October, 1938, Volume 34, #4, California Journal of Mines and Geology, State Mineralogist's Report. In addition to the great map there is information about hundreds of individual mines in the county all the way from the Cerro Gordo mine to a special section about the Darwin Silver-Lead district. 195 pages of this book are all about the mines of Inyo County. This is the only place you can find most of this information. Also includes a 13 page list of all the metal mines in the county individually totalling over 400 companies. It shows the last known owner of each mine, it's location and the owner's address. A quick look through the alphabetical book index shows the Skidoo mine, the Panamint Mine, the Slate Range Mine, Argus Mines, Balarat Mining Company, Big Bell mine, the Burro mine and the Wildrose Mine. Hundreds more you've never heard of and dozens more that you have. Information about each one of these companies. Mines in Death Valley are included as well.

The map has an index that lists all the mines alphabetically so you can find them on the map. The back cover is trying to become detached due to the weight of the map in the sleeve. A small archival tape repair helps hold the back cover in place. Otherwise, a very nice copy.
