Unusual and very rare. This is a Gold Deposit card, US Mint Service Form No. 76 C. (c.1898). It is unused, but the reverse of the card has a note: "Geo.--I used the money on these checks to pay off today. I am laid up with a bad cold or would come down myself- NCN" This came out of a group of Carson City financial documents and we have never seen another. The George is almost certainly George B. Hill who was president of the Bullion & Exchange Bank. Given that the B&E worked inside of the Carson City Mint after 1893 controlling the refinery operations, this is quite possibly a Carson City Mint document! 4" x 5.25" Date: Location: Carson City, Nevada HWAC# 50915
