A very rare railroad pass. Please note it is damaged. Cassville & Western Railroad Co. This railroad connected Cassville, MO with Exeter, MO along a five mile right of way. Construction of this line was completed June 1896, and was imperative to Cassville's success, as roads to the town were impassable during the winter. By 1919, the line faced bankruptcy, although after reorganization as the Cassville & Exeter Railroad, it's fortunes changed dramatically. Billed as the shortest independent standard-gauge railroad & newspapers across the U.S. and Ripley's Believe It or Not publicized the line, and it's one-man operator. Signed by company president (again please see photos of front and back for damaged condition). Still a rare and very cool piece.
