Extremely rare. Crucible assay by W. M. James dated Apr. 13, 1882. Form actually specifies the amount of materials used in the fire assay including Litharge, Car. Potash or Soda, Borax Glass, Charcoal, Nitre, Salt, etc. Weight of ore is in AT (Assay Ton Weight units) where 1 AT= 29.17 gm. which would yield a bead of precious metal weighing 1.0 mg. per troy oz. per ton. This is one of the earliest assay receipts to use AT weights (established in the early 1880’s) and uniquely detail assay technique. 11 x 8.25" Some soiling.
