This is a lot of gaming tokens from an illegal operation in Detroit, Mi. circa 1920's-1930's. The coins are 50 cent tokens marked "24845 Gratiot Ave" (Eastpointe, Mi) and tokens marked "17100 Mack Ave" the flip side of each token denotes the .50 cent value in trade. These two bags of tokens weighs 26. 4 lbs. or approximately 1,030 tokens. These coins are from the Fitzgerald collection. The late Lincoln Fitzgerald who reported to "The Purple Gang" of Detroit, was indicted for tax evasion in 1936. Lincoln Fitzgerald later had an attempt on his life in 1949 and was owner of The Nevada Club and Fitzgerald's Club. These tokens were used at gaming tables in aplenty in the style of silver dollars. This is a rare opportunity to own legitimate "syndicate" gaming pieces with unquestionable provenance. See LOT #56272 for a more compete description. Date: Location: Detroit, Michigan HWAC# 56274
