A choice example of the rare deep cobalt blue Lippincott bottle from Stockton. B. R. Lippincott ran his soda business from about 1852 to about 1858. This is another ten sided base (mug base)with an iron pontil. Professional, but light polish. On the reverse is "Superior Mineral Water/ Union Glass Works", the same as the famous Shasta cobalt soda bottle. Small imperfection at the top of one of the mug base plates. Gorgeous color. Stockton was the port for the southern gold mines during the gold rush. it accessed Sonora and all the other southern gold mine camps. 29376 City: Stockton State: California Date: 1850's HWAC# 29367
