Lot of 2 rare Bodie/Mono County. 1) Metallic Consolidated Gold & Silver Mining Co. 1879, issued to and signed by Ellis Edwards, SF promoter and company secretary. Mine was located in Lake District of Mono County and they had a property in Bodie as well. 2) Tiger Gold & Silver Mining Company, issued to and signed by Ellis Edwards. Ellis Edwards was a key investor and founder in a number of western mining company stocks. Included Gypsy queen in Bodie, South Belvedere 1879, AZ MC 1876, Belmont 1878. An article in SF examiner in 1879 discussed the metallic co operating a mine at Bodie. It did not name the mine. Ellis started in VC in 1871; he was an agent for the Tahoe House and moved to SF about 1875 as a lawyer and later briefly a judge.
