A rare handbill/broadside notifying readers of law surrounding mining claims and surveys, printed by the Madisonian newspaper of Virginia City, Montana. The printing of this document is estimated c. 1890 and no later than 1915, as the Madisonian ceased publication in 1915. The broadside describes the process of posting notice of a mining claim, sinking a discovery shaft, and filing the claim with the county. Minor staining at top left and bottom right, some tearing along creases with several tape repairs in verso and one on the front. All text remains clear and legible; see photos.
