SECOND certificate issued! For 5 shares to John S Love. Signed by Thompson Campbell and president JW Foard. Dateline San Francisco December 30, 1863. Reese River Mining District. Incorporated November 1863. Not cancelled. 25c Power of Att'y Revenue stamp. Mill on a river vignette. Red underprint scroll work with $800,00. Buswell & Co. printer. No edge, corner or pinhole issues. The only coloration issues seem to be authentic to 1863. The only reference to this company I could find was in the 1864 San Francisco Directory. Charles Pope seems to have been a rather accomplished actor who moved to the area shortly before this mine was incorporated. He had would have had ties to the president through Rollin Daggett. Biography of Charles Pope and the Foard, Pope, Daggett relationship is discussed. [ Austin, Lander Co. Nevada
