On one half sheet of lined paper. An example of a folded over revenue stamp. An I. O. U. for $2,090.00 between Summit Mill Co. by O. S. Carrill and Palmer Knox & Co. entered into on June 15. It has with four adhesive revenue stamps. The first is a U. S. blue 50 cent, Mortgage stamp (R59, R 5), perf., that is folded over to the reverse of the paper. Another is a red, U. S., 25 cent, revenue stamp, perf., but its type has been blocked by a red, 5 cent U. S. Express (R25, R 3) revenue stamp, perf. The last stamp is a red, U. S. 25 cent “BOND” stamp, R 43, R 4, perf. Signed on the reverse by Palmer Knox & Co. Stamped on reverse "Pay the Bank of British North America or Order" and signed again by Palmer Knox $ Co. Stamped paid 12 Sept 1868. Some foxing but in good condition.
