Rare. For gold bullion deposit on June 2,1866 by Wells, Fargo & Co. at the Riehn, Hemmer & Co. Assay Office located at 434 Montgomery Street. A 130.47 ounce gold bar worth $2,447.60! Folds, tweo small holes, some soiling. 5.25" x 10.75" August Hemme left New York for the Gold Rush and arrived in California in May 1849. He tried his luck as a miner in the Feather River, but soon realized he could be more successful in other industries and purchased large areas of farm land in San Ramon.
