Inc. in West Virginia, but issued at Santa Barbara, California in 1902. Great vignette of an oil derrick and what looks like a pumping apparatus. Although there is much oil acitivity in the Ventura-Santa Barbara area, an oil stock issued in Santa Barbara is rare. The oil spills in the ocean north of Santa Barbara at Golena caused consternation among Californians and a ban on offshore drilling. Oil still seeps into the ocean to this day from the offshore oil platforms. The certificate has some extra folds, but is otherwise VF. Uncanceled.
