This is the rare model 1840 Sheble & Fisher cavalry saber, identified by a relatively flat pommel and narrow grip used during the Civil War. The Sheble & Fisher Philadelphia stamp is partly obscured by the leather washer. The wire wrap is loose but intact. Complete with scabbard overall good condition. 40 in. saber, 42 in. with scabbard.
