Lot of 2. 1) RARE 1870 Bank of California letterhead for their Treasure City branch (preprinted with blue Hamilton stamp). Message to Densmore from John Paxton (banker) refers to Fitch, Trittle & Co. and an election. Also mentions Governor Nye. "Old Nye did not at first intend to come to this place at all but I hear now that he is to be here & make a speech to the faithful..." "I think myself that our chances for this election in state are good. I do certainly hope you may get your office." At this point, Nye was a US Senator for Nevada. John A. Paxton operated banks in several Nevada towns, including Paxton & Thornburgh and Paxton, Curtis. & Co. 2) 1885 Hamilton, Nevada billhead for William Matson, freighter. Biller to JH Lockwood for freight on grain.
