Purple/blue. Wells, Fargo & Co. No. 189. Date Oct. 5th, 1861. Virginia City had just become part of Nevada Territory that year (in March). Statehood was a little over 3 years away. Pay to B.F. Deesly $150. Signed by R.N. Graves. Graves was the superintendent of the Empire Mill and Mining Co. and Imperial Silver Mining Co. He made a fortune in Consolidated California stock but lost his money in other Comstock speculation.
