This is the Holy Grail for Nevada check and RN collectors! Chollar Potosi Mining Company Check, Virginia City, Nevada with RN-B17d, the rarest of the Nevada imprinted revenues. This check was issued in Dec. 1869 and is signed by Isaac Requa as superintendent. Violet 2 cent Nevada stamp on the left border and RN-B imprinted revenue at center. Lith. Britton & Rey, SF. Some stains, fading of the ink. There are only a handful (perhaps 4) of these known. We have only offered one of these over the past 10 years. This will be the crown jewel of your Nevada/Comstock check collection! The Chollar & Potosi were located in southeast Virginia City adjacent to the Hale & Norcross. The two fought in court when the Chollar claimed the Potosi had staked land on their claim. The lawsuit ended in a merging of the two companies in 1865. They later split apart again in the late 1870s.
