Native American pottery by Ray D. Garcia. Tan bowl with brown embellishments. 5 inches at top, 6 inches tall, 6 inches wide. A member of the San Felipe Pueblo where he still resides and works, Ray "Duck" Garcia continues the tradition of his family by creating inspiring and striking pieces of pottery and jewelry. He credits his grandmother for instilling in him the love of pottery-making and his mother for introducing him to silverwork. As to his pottery, he uses Micaceous clay and native clays, slips and paints. His pieces incorporate traditional ideas with contemporary architectural notes.
