Nice RPPC labelled "E.J. (Lucky) Baldwin & J. Wiley Wallace Nurseries, Santa Anita, Cal." Not mailed. Reverse has pen notations "The pictures show part of the nursery" AZO stamp box. Lucky Baldwin was an accidental millionaire from the Comstock who then developed properties at Lake Tahoe (Tallac). He made a fortune when Norcoss Mine stock, which he had told his investor to sell while he was on a trip, shot up in value after the discovery of a rich vein. In 1875, Baldwin moved to Southern California and bought the Rancho Santa Anita.
