Lot of 3. 1) Real photo postcard of Colorado figure Mrs. Captain Jack. Shows woman standing in front of campfire, with two revolvers, holding a miner's pick, with a miner's candlestick stuck in her hat. Mailed 1908 Colorado Springs from B.B., who says "Mrs Captain Jack, an old prospector woman on the High Drive which I go up and work for sometimes." Mrs. Captain Jack was Ellen E. Jack, who came over from England with her husband, a captain in the Civil War who died. She took on the title and became an eccentric Western character on the High Drive trail near Colorado Springs, using her gun-toting, prospector persona to entertain tourists. 2) Two bonus Colorado and New Mexico unmailed postcards: Hotel Rancho in Gallup, NM, and Cattle Drive in Raton Mountains, Between Trinidad and Raton, NM.
