Lot of 2 different, exterior and interior. Very rare. 1) Exterior view of two well-dressed men pointing at the advertising for the bar on the storefront window. Unposted, some toning on reverse. 2) Interior view of saloon with a dozen well-dressed men posing. Pencil notations on the back indicate one of the men is Sam Johnson. Unposted, some toning on the reverse. Sam S. Johnson is known to bottle collectors for his "Sam's Johnson Bar" whiskey flasks. The term "Johnson Bar" has a double meaning. Of course, Johnson is the last name of the proprietor of the saloon/bar. But a "Johnson Bar" is also a railroad term for a lever that the engineer would depress to release steam into the engine. Thus, Holabird believes Johnson used that phrasing on his bottles as a nod to railroad workers. Sam Johnson started in Reno by purchasing a part interest in the Assembly Saloon in 1903. By 1905, he ran his own saloon located at 7 W. Second, possibly a merger with the Assembly Saloon (at 11 W. Second). It operated till at least 1915. [See Volume One of the Nevada Bottle Book]
