Photograph with signature by Captain A. Roy Brown of the Royal Flying Corps who shot down the unbeatable Red Baron in an air duel behind British lines on April 21, 1918. Photograph 2" x 3.5" on 3" x 4.5" paper backing along with autograph on 2.5" x 1" paper, "Yours very truly, A. Roy Brown" with "1934" written above the photo. Rare. Comes with an unused RPC of Manfred Frhr. von Richthofen (Red Baron), 3.5" x 5.5" published in 1933. Fine condition. The Red Baron (1892-1918), a fighter pilot with the German Air Force, was the world's top air ace in WWI with 80 victories. After Brown shot him down he was awarded a medal, and he gave Richthofen a funeral with full military honors. [] [] [] [] []
