An account of a WWI dogfight between the Red Baron (Baron von Richthofen) and Hubert A. Whatley. According to the 9.5" x 12.5" account, Whatley was shot down in flames as the 57th victim of the Red Baron on July 2, 1917, he was a sergeant in the Royal Air Force (RAF). Signature, "H.A. Whatley," 4" x .5", and accompanying letter from the victim's parent, "G.A. Whatley," one page, folded, 10.5" x 6.75", Nov. 3, 1929, on blue stationery with envelope, "...In reply to your letter, I am sorry, I have no very clear signature of my dear son, but I am sending you the best I have, it is taken from his soldier's 'small book' which he signed when he enlisted at the age of sixteen and ten months..."
