An account by the 64th victim of Baron von Richthofen (Red Baron), H.J. Sparks, second lieutenant, observer and gunner of the 62nd Squadron, RAF. TLS, "H.J. Sparks," one page, Sept. 18, 1929, 6" x 8" response to autograph request and "...I should esteem it a great favor if you could possibly obtain for me a copy of the Liberty Magazine, which was published in connection with the Baron's 80 combats...," and includes typed extracts of Sparks' life and encounter with Richthofen. "...He reenlisted in the Black Watch in 1915, and received his commission as a lieutenant, April 1917, in the King's Royal Rifle Corps, where he won his Military Cross...transferred to the Flying Corps in August, 1917..." and account of being prisoner, "...During the second day in the hospital, a German flying officer came in and said he had been sent to see me by Baron von Richthofen, who wished me to accept half a dozen cigars with his compliments..."
