Lot of five. 1) An early and possibly unique cash drawer. We could find its beginnings (This 1859 invention consists in the employment or use of a series of bolts placed within a hinged-plate, which is connected with a bell-striking mechanism, and so arranged with keys that a person unacquainted with the position of the parts can- not open the drawer or till without sounding an alarm) but no current photos of it! 2) 1903 Red and White Letterhead for the Red House. 3) Dalton, Clifford & / Wilson Co. / Reno, Nevada. Clear, pristine, 4.5". This bottle was part of the new drug store that Clifford and Dalton opened up with a professor from the university. 4-5) Reprints of two Red House related photographs from the University of Nevada Special Collections. I could find little about this place. I know it was an important Drug Store in Austin. I know it was the only drug store in Lander County at one time. I also know the proprietors, O. S. Clifford and T. H. Dalton were important citizens during this ‘down time’ in Austin’s history. History of the Red House, and bios of OJ Clifford and TH Dalton.
