Boston Red Sox stock certificate #53 for one (1) share at $100 per share issued to future team owner Harry Frazee. Lannin was famous for signing a young pitcher from Baltimore named George Herman (Babe) Ruth to his first major league contract in 1914. Ironically, Frazee would make history by selling the young pitcher to the New York Yankees in January of 1920. Lannin, besides the Red Sox, also owned Roosevelt Airfield on Long Island. This is the same airfield from which Charles Lindbergh took off on his solo Trans-Atlantic flight. The cert is signed twice by Lannin and once by Frazee on the reverse. Please see the other four lots that also include historic Red Sox stock certificates. Please see photos for more details, Boston Massachusetts Ken Prag Collection
