Three large frames of rusty relics from the famous California trail through the Forty Mile Desert in Nevada, collected by Jack & Marie Farnesi. Jack Farnesi was a pharmacist in Reno for more than 50 years. Raised in Stockton, California, he moved to Reno in 1947. He originally worked fro Hale Drugs for 18 years, then for Thrifty Drug for almost 30 years. He'd fill in now and then at the Owl Rexall and Cerverri's Drug store. Though he was a pharmacist all his life, Farnesi was a rockhound at heart, as are many chemists. He loved Nevada mining camps, the pioneer trails and everything outdoors. Jack's uncle worked for SPRR and as kids, he and his cousin rode the rail cars to Boca and eastbound during the summers. Some of his favorite locations were Virginia City and Six Mile Canyon. Some of his bottles are presented here in the catalog, and his artifact collection are contained within about six frames. 254 Artifacts in all, many of significance. A number of pieces are from Virginia City businesses, as marked.
