Lot of thirteen. 1) R-6 magenta 1886 Belleville. Post office open from 1874 to 1894. 2) R-5 Columbus as a received on the back of an envelope. VERY strong strike. Part of wax seal in place. To J Henry Strachen, a prospector and mining man. 1871-1895. Also has a R-4 Candelaria on back. 3) R-5 Fletcher. Open three times. This period was from 1894 to 1912. Top of 'Fletcher' cut off. 4) R-4 Millers. Very nice very early strike as a received stamp. 1906 (1906-1913). On postcard. 5) R-4 Candelaria double ring. Purple. Star killer. To Chalfant of Bishop. Some historical background on Chalfant included. 6) Early, very strong 1882 (1870-1925) Sweetwater cancel. R-4. Maltese cross killer. 7) R-4 1889 Aurora dark blue cancel. Double circle. To RP Keating of Virginia, Nevada. Keating was a mill superintendent in Gold Hill and a lawyer. 8) R-4 Sodaville with a corner advertising Douglass Mill, Mining and Mercantile Company. Unlisted in Gamett. 1899 cancel. 9) R-4 very strong Sodaville strike. 1908 (1882-1917). Short note on father's death. Wife seems to be in Sodaville and husband in Missouri. Why? Some historical background included. 10) Strong 1905 Hawthorne doane 7 with cc. To JS Cain of Bodie with Bodie rec'd stamp on back. Historical background on sender George S. Green. 11) 1894 Schurz with some historical background. 12) Goldfield postmaster cancel. Cancel used as killer and part has been lost to a rough tear on top. Still this double ring cancel is earlier than the earliest listed in Gamett & Nelson. Butler, Nevada Rec'd on back (R-5). Great piece! 13) 1910 Goldfield very strong strike. cc' of John S. Cook Bank.
