Over 150 post cards. Many are European. Includes (among hundreds of others) Paso Robles Hot Springs, Hotel Raymond in Pasadena. Casutin Ostrich Farm, matadors, Napoli, Taomina, Paris, a Wiener Prater postcard, Rome, Grand Opera House in San Francisco presenting "The Silver Slipper," Vienna, Pompeii, Savoy West End Hotel, California resorts, Alaskan dog sled team, Montreal, Wallapai papoose, Sacramento River and Scenic Railroad, New Greek Theater in Berkeley, Japan , Germany, Gibraltar, etc. Pay particular attention to the comic Tamalpais Railroad.



Hellman: Isaias Hellman arrived in Los Angeles in 1859 and became the town's first informal banker and started the Farmers and Merchants Bank of Los Angeles, which became Los Angeles' first successful bank., a major investor in trolley lines and is credited by some sources as the founder the the University of Southern California (USC).
