One of the alltime classic Frederick Remington bronze sculptures, "Coming Through the Rye" in the proper size, 20 x 30.5 x 30" on a dark green/black greenstone base. Signed on top of the bronze base at the front right corner, with the #22/100 on the side of the bronze base below. No foundry stamps found along the center back or anywhere else. The piece comes with a wood pedestal (meant to be covered) 12" high, x 22 x 34". This specimen is better in appearance than the more modern copies seen on line, though this piece appears not to be cast by Roman Bronze works or the other bronze factories associated with the Remington estate prior to WW2. Further, there is no "second signature" near the "Remington". The sculpture depicts the illustration of the same content published by Remington in Century and Harper's Magazine in 1888-1889.
