This spectacular revolver is a rare Remington-Smoot five-shot .38 cal. #3 revolver. C. 1870's. It is 100% original nickel and doubtful that it has ever been fired. The hard rubber grips are checkered and crisp as brand new. The barrel is marked "E. REMINGTON & SONS _ ILION _ N. Y. PAT. W. S. SMOOT _ OCT. 21_1873_". The finish on this revolver is superb and shows very little wear; mirror finish would be an accurate description for the barrel and cylinder. All screws are factory blue and the grip screw retains all of its niter finish. This is (probably) the best original Remington-Smoot revolver in existence. The lock-up on the cylinder is as tight or tighter than most present day revolvers. The sound of the hammer when pulled and the cylinder lock-up is unmistakably beautiful.
