22 pages. Printed by W.D. Starr & Son, Middletown. Very nice color map (17.5" x 21.5") of the property at the front of the report (Lith. by Robertson & Seibert, NY). Ore is "Aresnical Nickel and Cobalt ore, of a silver white color, disseminated everywhere through the gangue in visible grains, sheets and larger nests." J.C. Booth (of the Philadelphia U.S. Mint) ends his report with the prediction: "I fully believe that the mines...will exercise a powerful influence on the market for the metals Cobalt and Nickel." Francfort (the superintendent) recommends more "stoping ground" be opened, the construction of a dam (and a way to heat the building in the winter), a lodging house for the miners, as well as more stamps. Rips and tape repairs to cover. Folds and light toning to pages. 9" x 5.5" City: Chatham State: Connecticut Date: 1855 ID# 34806
