This book is the principal report to the Chief of Ordinance for fiscal and operations of the Sandy Hook (Army) Proving Grounds, dated 1893. This volume is 730 pages of accounting, photos of gunnery hardware, fold-outs, targets, skeleton drawings of rifles, Gatling guns, torpedoes, Navy ordinance, and tests of gun powders by type and brand. This volume was the property of First Lieut. Fremont P. Peck signed by him in the front piece, "Fremont P. Peck, Sandy Hook Proving Ground, August 15th, 1894; and again on page 3. First Lieut. Peck was killed in February, 1895 while testing a Hotchkiss rapid-firing Gun. 6 in. X 9 in. red leatherette cover, rounded corners, frail binding. Overall good condition.
