Issued in 1840 and redeemed in 1845. Ten coupons signed and attached. Certificate is cut cancelled, but not intrusive. Issued to L. Colguhuan(?). Signed by Charles DeMorse. The certificate and all ten of its coupons have been signed by DeMorse. Multiple "X" cut cancellations, decorated with two vignettes. Engraved by Endicott & Clark of New Orleans. DeMorse, the Texas Stock Commissioner, was tasked with funding the republic's mounting public debt under President Mirabeau B. Lamar. Co-signed by Comptroller J.W. Simmons.
