DeMorse, the Texas Stock Commissioner, was tasked with funding the republic's mounting public debt under President Mirabeau B. Lamar. Co-signed by Comptroller J.W. Simmons. Engraved by Endicott & Clark of New Orleans. W. Little probably is one of Stephen F. Austin's Old Three Hundred colonists.
