DeMorse, the Texas Stock Commissioner, was tasked with funding the republic's mounting public debt under President Mirabeau B. Lamar. Co-signed by Comptroller J.W. Simmons. Allegorical vignettes. Engraved by Endicott & Clark of New Orleans. Printed by Southern Bank Note Co. Ten coupons attached. 7.75 x 10" Multiple cut/spindle cancels. Edward Hall was a cartographer. In 1836, the Texas Commissioners appointed Edward Hall to purchase and ship all supplies needed by the provincial government.
