Both of these soldiers were involved in Indian issues in 1841. Hart was in the company of Captain Fowler and received $22.03. Fowler is most likely C. A. W. Fowler, a tried and true military man. Holloway was in the company of Captain Key under General Fanant(?) and received $30.00. In our quick search we found no information on Hart or Holloway although this time in Texas history probably meant the men were involved in Indian issues. The Republic of Texas inherited from the provisional and ad interim governments a debt estimated at $1.25 million. Postponement of the payment of the bulk of this debt was protracted over a period of eleven years, interest accumulating on it up to July 1, 1850.
