1) Wilkinson was to receive $157.50 for service in the Somerville Campaign in the company of Captain Cameron under General Davis. He was a member of the 1st Regiment, South Western Army from October 17 to November 20, 1842. The company served at San Antonio, Camp Cooke and the Somervell campaign. This is a very large sum of money, but what for we do not know. 2) Martin was to receive $45 for service in the Somervell campaign. Texas stamp on reverse. Martin was an ensign. The Somervell expedition was a punitive expedition against Mexico in retaliation for three predatory raids made by Mexican armies upon Texas in 1842
