A widow's request for payment, dated March 10, 1779, Sandwich (Mass.), following her husband's death in the Revolutionary War. 6.5" x 7", Fine.
"To the Paymaster Of" from Nancy Jackson, requesting that the wages due her late husband, Prince Jackson, "who was a Soldier in Cape Angiers Company" be paid to Lieut. Abraham Williams. The illiterate Mrs. Jackson makes her mark, and the document is witnessed by the town clerk, Benjamin Fessenden and his wife, Rebecca. At the bottom, two Selectmen, Joseph Nye and John Smith, certify that Nancy Jackson is truly the widow of Prince Jackson and ought to draw the wages due him. Scattered toning. [ Sandwich Massachusetts
