An historic moment in U. S. naval history, 1775. At least three naval vessels are named "Unity" after the original revolutionary war era vessel. "Women of the American Revolution" by Elizabeth F. Ellet, 1900. An incredible book where the author dedicates the book " to my mother Sarah Maxwell Lummis, the daughter of a revolutionary officer" 396 pp. rag edge paper, blue fabric cover, gold lettering, gold edging on one side only, 5 1/2 in. X 8 in. A magnificent book told by those who had first-hand recollection and acquaintances with George and Martha Washington as well as imprisoned British and French Officers.
