Location: Prince William Sound and Latouche Island. Inc. in Washington. No. A1650, not cancelled. Issued to Susan L. Stedman for 100 shares on Feb. 26th, 1907. Signed by H.D. Reynolds (president) and John G. Brady (treasurer). Black border, gold seal, and vignette of allegorical figures with American flag.

Both of the corporate signatures here are significant and tell a wonderful story. John G. Brady (1847-1918) was governor of Alaska from 1897 to 1906. He was forced out of office for his involvement with this company and support of Reynolds' ventures, as it was viewed as a conflict of interest. Henry D. Reynolds was a famous Alaska mining figure and promoter. He arrived in Prince William Sound in 1901 and by 1907 this company was doing well. To support his interests, he tried to start a railroad in Valdez (Alaska Home Railroad), but it eventually went bankrupt. Prag Collection
