FINAL AUCTION RECORD The Auctioneer’s podium notes serve as the final, legally binding record of the auction results, superseding any electronic bidding records. See Terms and Conditions
Lot of approx. 20. Includes three items from The Northern, Incorporated Investment Company, which was tied to the Northern Saloon in Rhyolite: two Keno game sheets and a prize list. Also in the group is a used Keno sheet from Los Angeles, as well as 15 or so unused Chinese Keno game sheets. Keno was played much differently in 1908 than today's electronic game. Eighty numbered balls were placed in a bowl. Four empty bowls, numbered one through four, were placed alongside. Then an "outsider" draws four balls at a time. These are placed one at a time in each of the four bowls until all bowls contain 20 balls. The outsider then throws a dice until a one, two, three or four comes up. That is the number of the bowl with the 20 numbers being called for the current game. After any winners have been paid, the process is repeated.
