Ridgeway mantle clock model 550 with an M7 movement. Serial Number 84000068. Serial date is 2/15/84. Mechanism is Number 83 Franz Hermle, two-jewel movement, 340-020, made in West Germany. Does not have a key for winding the mechanism. Westminster Chime on the quarter hours. Cherry finish wood case with hinged front glass door kept closed by a magnetic latch. Inner label on back panel describes how to adjust the time to within 1/2-minute per 24-hour period. When wound with a key from another, similar clock, it seems to run well (though it loses a few minutes per week) and it chimes as expected on the quarter hours. Approx 10 x 6 x13 inches. Very good condition. Ridgeway clocks were originally made by the Gravely Furniture Company in Martinsville, Virginia. In the late 1980s (probably after this clock was made), Ridgeway was sold to Pulaski Furniture Co. In 2004, Howard Miller Clock of Michigan purchased Ridgeway and moved production there.
