A limited edition set, 998/1000, portfolio of prints of charcoal sketches by Robert Caples, PEOPLE OF THE SILENT LAND, A PORTFOLIO OF NEVADA INDIANS, c1972, University of Nevada Press, Reno. Robert Caples (1908-1979) was considered one of the most important modern painters in the history of Nevada. The artist was known for his drawings of American Indians and for painted landscapes of Nevada. The 22" x 17.5" portfolio holds nine 21.5" x 17" prints on thick cream colored sketch paper, each frameable. All with a slight bend lower right corner.
