Declaration of Independence figure, and major colonial financier Robert Morris signs as president, James Marshall signs as Sec. This certificate is issued to James Greenleaf for five shares on February 20, 1795 un-canceled in all forms. James Greenleaf, 1765 to 1843, was a land speculator in Washington DC and New York and came from a wealthy Boston family. While he was instrumental in developing Washington DC on the whole, and an important partner to Robert Morris and Nicholas, his business collapsed in the late 1700s, causing them to go to debtor's prison in 1797. Historical and important significance to this certificate.
