Two different mining vignettes: hoisting scene (at left) and sluicing scene (top center). 25 cent adhesive revenue stamp attached at right and on reverse. Printed Curtliss & Macy, NY. Folds. 6.25 x 10.5"Hollister describes a "Rochdale Gold Mining Company," which is most certainly the same as our Rockdale. The company had 800 ft. on the Harsh Lode at Leavenworth Gulch with 4 shafts (50-80 ft. deep); 550 ft. on the Calhoun with one 125 ft. shaft; 600 ft. on the Wood with one 80 ft. shaft; and a frame mill on the Harsh Lode.
