Rare and early. Location: Mokelumne District, Alpine County, California (printed upper right). Incorporated Oct. 27, 1863. No. 57, issued for 20 shares to Henry A. Lynch on Aug. 27th, 1864 in San Francisco. Signed by the president, LB Whipple and secretary Henry Hale. Not cancelled. Vignette of allegorical woman sitting on throne near sea port. Printed by Bosqui's & Co., SF. Deep folds, toning, two large tears (upper and lower left side). Not in Filer. S.A. Hawkins, assessor, reports that in 1866, the company was one of the mines in the district where considerable work had been done and "fine ore obtained." He also mentions the Crocket and Silver Era in the Mokelumne District. Besides this district, Hawkins also discusses the Silver Mountain, Mogul, Raymond, and Monitor districts in Alpine County. Hawkins notes that a considerable amount of work has been done in the county in the previous two years.
