Six-inch Rose Bowl by Roseville Pottery, Pine Cone design, pattern number 261, introduced in 1935. Roseville 261 is embossed into the bottom. Roseville also called 261 a 6-inch Fern Dish. This piece measures about 6" tall and 8" in diameter at the widest. The long-needle pine branch with pine cone includes a handle shaped like a gnarled pine branch. Background shades of brown, orange, and yellows are set in contrast to the dark brown, green and yellows of the pine foliage. The design disappeared from Roseville factory catalogs by 1939. The design was revived as Pine Cone Modern in 1953 with slightly altered color palette and different patterns. This 1935-era piece is in excellent condition with one small chip on the bottom which is not visible. See photo for details.
